Why External Walls get Dampness/Wet/Leakages?
When exterior walls are exposed to rainwater or high humidity, water and moisture can travel through the masonry which causes damp patches on the internal walls. This results in peeling paint, leakage, mold, fungus and also makes your home feel cold and dank. This means that your walls may stay damp for a long time even after the rainy season has passed.

What are the causes and sources of dampness?:
Moisture from the ground can rise above ground level and damage walls

Sloping roofs can collect water that can percolate into the home and cause cracks
Blocked drainage pipes can collect water and cause damp walls.

The walls of your house can develop cracks, which typically start near the door, window frames and beam joints. These cracks allow moisture to get into the structure of your building and cause damp patches. All these gaps need to cut and filled with crack past or relavent joint sealents.
Apply Protective Waterproof Coatings to the external walls:
To prevent seepage, We need to apply acrylic based waterproof coatings for the external walls. Which Provides a high quality effective waterproofing cum decorative coating for exterior walls.All surface should be dry and free from contamination such as
oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss, algae growth,
laitance, and all traces of mould release oils and curing compounds.

Application of waterproof coating:
It is recommended that new cementitious and concrete substrates has to be primed with water based arylic primer.
Apply first coat leave it to dry for 5-6 hrs at 300C and then apply the second coat. In
order to obtain the waterproof properties it is important that the correct rates of application and over coating time are observed. Application should not commence if the temperature of the substrate is below 10oC.
