Waterproofing is needed anytime a structure is built at below around. Waterproofing and drainage considerations are especially needed in cases where ground water is likely to build up in the soil and raise the water table.
Higher water table causes hydrostatic pressure to be exerted underneath basement raft and against basement retaining wall.
Hydrostatic pressure forces water in through cracks in foundation walls, through opening caused by expansion and contraction of the footing-foundation wall joint and up through floor cracks.
Hydrostatic pressure can cause major structural damage to foundation walls and is likely to contribute to mold, decay and other moisture related problems.
Dr. Fixit has a wide range of solution for all types of basement which effectively battle against ground water and contaminants.
DEEP BASEMENT METHODOLOGY:
Raft-Dr. Fixit Torchshield:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
1.Clean the surface thoroughly to get rid of all contaminants remove all surface imperfections and repair with a polymer modified mortar using Dr. Fixit pidicrete URP.
2.Ensure the surface is completely dry before starting installation of Dr. Fixit Torchshield
APPLICATION:
1.Prime the surface using Dr.Fixit Torchshield primer
2.Torch-apply a Dr.Fixit Torchshield AP 4160 membrane by providing an overlap of least 100mm.
3.Lay a second layer of the Dr. Fixit Torchshield AP 3160 membrane with an overlap of 50% above the first layer
4.Place a geotextile fabric of 150 gsm over the membrane before laying the concrete screed of 50mm which will facilitate the reinforcement cage to be assembled,so the RCC raft can be cast over it.

APPLICATION:
1.Lay Dr. Fixit Torchshield AP 4160,an APP based polyester reinforced membrene,by providing an overlap of at lesat 100mm.
2.Lay a second layer of the Dr. Fixit Torchshield AP 3160 membrane with an overlap of 50% above the first layer.
3.Fix the dimpled or plain protection board as a protective layer over the Torchshield membrane.
